Alas, I'm not in a position to eat as much meat as I need...but that should change once the baby is born and we move back home.

To say it's been rough is an understatement, and the added guilt of feeling like I'm setting my child up for a lifetime of consequences from the food I'm eating is...well. I'm sure i'll have more to feel guilty about as time passes.

Oro

And protein powder is frickin' disgusting.I_Sell_Bookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08047786558604545391noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34953284.post-71547623321128168582007-12-08T01:32:00.000-06:002007-12-08T01:32:00.000-06:00I've just noticed similar sensations when I eat ad...I've just noticed similar sensations when I eat adequate (read: 140+g) protein: improved leg strength and sensation, improved moods, sleep cycle, overall energy, mental and physical stamina.

I like your take on viewing protein powder as "medicine"---that's a nice shift for me, I'm so tired of it. But it's so helpful in getting those protein grams high enough, and I feel better for it.Galhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14420893502748743286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34953284.post-30046159547823255542007-12-08T01:15:00.000-06:002007-12-08T01:15:00.000-06:00Meat is the best part of the low carb plans! And I also use protein shakes, pudding, egg whites, etc to supplement. Shakes are supplements and meat is food.

Right now I'm pretty much maintaining, even tho my counts are low, but it's probably because of quitting smoking (3+ weeks!). I'm also on a very restricted diet. Anything that is not meat (eggs, cream, fats, etc) is restricted and several items (grains, nightshade veg) are eliminated. I am thoroughly enjoying getting enough protein!Alcinda (Cindy) Moorehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14950698583878546323noreply@blogger.com
