You know... if you just write it down... I think you'll see..."

And I'm thinking, WTF is wrong with this person? Is it that they think I'm lying? Is it that they can spend a week with me and be oblivious to the fact that usually my problem is eating at all, not eating too much?

Most hilarious, what part of, "How do you HIDE something like 3,000+ extra calories a day?!" don't they get??

Literally, our entire cultural media has BRAINWASHED everybody into believing that being seriously obese means the person must be sitting around eating 8 burgers per meal and entire gallons of ice cream and so on.

The basics that any bodybuilder coach can tell you -- that overeating will make you fat, but undereating and then eating badly in compensation is what usually sparks the most major obesity -- are unknown to the population at large.

I think the low-fat high-carb diet literally makes people constantly starving and they end up obsessed with food and trying not to eat, and they just can't help but project that on everyone else.

On lowcarb, the appetite suppression of ketosis let alone the satiety of eating a lot of protein and fat, makes the whole food issue pretty different.

LCband-it: you need to get away from ANY people, groups or lists that don't treat you with the respect of trust. The whole "wear the piggy-face because you're a lb of water weight heavier this week" that weight watchers started out with is still there sublimated in other behaviors, I think! Many of the people at lowcarber.org's forum are pretty decent. You might consider a journal there. You'd get support from people who actually have a clue about body chemistry.PJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04391277875371518678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34953284.post-16996157602721672142007-06-22T22:05:00.000-05:002007-06-22T22:05:00.000-05:00OMG - ask my family how many times I have said som...OMG - ask my family how many times I have said some of these SAME THINGS to them??

It gets SOOOOO old hearing Old WW Leaders or people who are supposed to be "supporting" me on email lists, accuse me of CHEATING or not "really being honest" with what I'm eating - trying to get me to ADMIT my eating disorder of choice (binging, purging WHATEVER) - because "they all have it, so I must". These are people who actually lose weight quite easily - never got "that big" and can't understand why I have so much trouble losing on a low-fat diet. DUH!!! I've been saying for years there is something MORE wrong with me that what's "normal".

THANK YOU for this GREAT post. I'm going to be putting a link to it on my blog because EVERYONE needs to hear it!Low Carb Band-Ithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16464909591754639325noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34953284.post-74306164775543974742006-10-22T13:55:00.000-05:002006-10-22T13:55:00.000-05:00I just found your blog and I applaud you for your ...I just found your blog and I applaud you for your effort. It is sad that people can not be kinder to each other. I wish you success in your journey and I will be following you online. Like you I have a great deal of weight to lose (at least 120 lbs) and I am overwhelmed by the journey in front of me. But knowing there are others like me helps me know I can do this with a little help from my friends.flashbnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02673826412754326300noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34953284.post-38927079644410152782006-10-21T05:52:00.000-05:002006-10-21T05:52:00.000-05:00I really enjoyed reading this, I have linked to it...I really enjoyed reading this, I have linked to it on my forum for the others so hopefully they will read it too.

Very well said!.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16627887590504890131noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34953284.post-15791310879934239472006-10-18T22:33:00.000-05:002006-10-18T22:33:00.000-05:00I love reading your blogs!!! One of ...I love reading your blogs!!! Thank you!!

One of the things that I found gratifying when I first started low carb (low carber forum) was hearing so many people also say that they couldn't loose weight with "conventional" diets, even on less than 1000 cal a day. I know people thought I was lying, and there were times I thought I was crazy! It wasn't until I started reading Dr Atkins, and later Protein Power and other books, articles that I realized that I'm likely insulin resistant and carbs are poison to me.

And yes, there is a great deal of hatred of the overweight and obese!! I think you may have hit the nail on the head saying it's fear of being fat themselves that causes people to act the way they do. In any event, it's the one form of desrimination that is not only acceptable, but often encouraged.

Anyway, keep on posting...and keep on fighting! You're doing great!!! Keep it up!Alcinda (Cindy) Moorehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14950698583878546323noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34953284.post-53719714969103878992006-10-18T21:00:00.000-05:002006-10-18T21:00:00.000-05:00I don't remember how I found your blog, but I enjo...I don't remember how I found your blog, but I enjoy your writing and your share most of your opinions. Thank you for writing...I have just started living the low-carb way. I have lost 17 pounds in two weeks. Most of the information I have about low carb I have gotten from Jimmy Moore/Livin LaVida Low Carb and Kimmer/Kimkins.com.

AlexAlexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06231072942585409114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34953284.post-71795428499848935362006-10-18T20:59:00.000-05:002006-10-18T20:59:00.000-05:00Wow.
